School Programs

We have been working behind the scenes to bring Africa to your doorsteps. From a few days to an entire week, every year, we will transform a city parkland into an African village, for the enjoyment of the wider community. Our first will be in 2022; keep a lookout for this, and get your tickets early!

This is an immersive African experience, where you enter a village and learn about the stories of the characters who live in this village. Listen to their stories, dance to their music, and taste their diverse and delicious cuisine.

Get involved!

The program is divided into three stages, each of which is designed to equip the participant with tools to further their journey of self-exploration, self-understanding, and self-expression—from revisiting significant memories, to exploring body language and movement; from practicing voice projection and pronunciation, to exploring effective tools for presenting to and engaging a live audience.

Dance Groups

Traditional Dancers

Throughout the festival, there are multiple traditional dance demonstrations and competitions. There will be judges, who will choose the winner; the general audience will also vote for their People Choice's winner.

You don't need to be an African group to take place in the competition; however, the dance you demonstrate needs to be a traditional African dance. All are welcome!
